Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
This photo shows glamor retouching, the technique used is from Professor Katrin Eismanns book.
This is the Heal Brush technique, that you basically smooth out the texture in the skin with a duplicated layer, just keep the ALT click defined to the area you working for example the forehead, the cheeks, the jaw, and etc… then you add some noise with an 18% gray neutral layer 1.5 monochromatic, then after that you feather with a lasso tool on the background layer and CTRL + J theses layers on top and play with the opacity until some texture is shown.
My favorite technique is the NSL which I will give updates on these as well.
Special thanks to Katrin Eismann.
Here is my review on the book, and where you can buy it from!

***** 5 Stars by Clint Earhart | Photographer
A tremendous tool to all photographers and retouchers!, January 31, 2010 As a photographer having the eye is one thing, but having the special talent to retouch is another. After editing for about 6 months appallingly not complimenting the subject matter, I spoke with many photographers and asked for a resource I could obtain, their answers were simple: Photoshop Restoration and Retouching for Photoshop.
The book covers everything from simple shortcut keys to advanced glamor and tailoring techniques. Katrin’s explanations are exceedingly dynamic which shines through the texts and step-by-step directions explaining the craft of editing and restoring an image in depth. I’ve learned countless techniques from this book and I’m very happy to teach peers and other aspiring fashion and portrait photographers the “art” of retouching. It’s a dense book, but go through what you need to that relates to field of work.
This book has remarkable, yet uncomplicated techniques in glamor retouching which all yield beautiful and elegant results. This book is worth the money and will give you the tools to create a work path and work flow suitable for anyone’s requirements.
